Feature Friday- My personal Accent
My Personal Accent. The Upcycle DIY blog of the century!
This weeks featured newbie blogger is Angela from “My Personal Accent”
If the name doesn’t grab your attention, her blog certainly will. Angela is the DIY upcycle queen of the blogosphere and this is definitely not your everyday blog!
Got a couple of old side tables from the 1970′s hanging out in your garage that’s taking up space and collecting dust? That’s not what Angela see’s. She see’s a ”Cat tree” project for their Cat Cecil. Angela’s blog is full of ideas on taking old things and turning them into something new and spectacular. She share’s these projects and her creativity with her readers and invites them to participate!
Angela’s blog is not just a DIY upcycle blog, It’s a money saving, tip sharing, charity giving, garden pruning, story telling, Old MacDonald had a farm electric guide to life with a dose of humor to boot! This has got to be one of the most unique blogs I have ever had the pleasure of stopping by. Angela also features other bloggers, their projects and their creations and encourages reader participation sometimes even taking a poll on what she should create out of a particular item like an old Coca cola crate. Craft organizer or a hanging light for a Man cave/Teen room? Let the readers decide! So fun!
My personal accent also takes pride in giving back. They feature a new charity/non-profit organization each month promoting any events or happenings the charity has and presents it to their readers and followers free of charge. Angela adds that with upcycling, she always finds herself with an excess of items so she donates many of them to a nonprofit home décor/furniture store that donates their percentage to animal rescue and then Angela donates her portion to that month’s featured charity We as bloggers can get involved by helping Angela promote these featured charities. Forwarding their posts and sharing the posts on any means of social media. You can also help by following Angela’s blog and participating in the many things it has to offer like frequent giveaway’s sometimes even given by the charities themselves. My personal accent has also partnered with “Consignd” and has an online store where a portion of proceeds goes to charity. You can view The store Here
I truly enjoy this blog where there never seems to be a dull moment. Great tips, lot’s of reader interaction and a really cool must see “Blog Header” of all things. Yep, that’s right. I love her sites header!
Come and support a newbie blogger AND promote a good cause all at the same time.

A quick request PLEASE READ!
Dear friends,
This evening I have a special request that I am asking each and everyone of you to at least look into.
Some of you may know Jessica from over at “The wondering brain”. Sweet Jessica has made me aware of a story that many of you have already heard, about a superhero of a little boy named Gavin and his mommy Kate who is the Author of a blog she calls “Chasing Rainbows”. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to hear about their story, grab a box of tissues and head over to her link.
To make an incredibly powerful story short, Gavin passed away only a few weeks ago at the age of 5 1/2 little years old. He touched the heart of many including my own.
Gavin’s mother’s only request was the we “Help someone”. She has offered multiple ways of doing this including donating to local special needs schools which are usually underfunded. Per Gavin’s mothers request, Jessica has made a donation to a special needs school in San Antonio, but they are $300 short of their goal.
Please read Jessica’s post Here which explains more of the details.
I am asking all of my readers, friends and followers to please help by promoting Jessica’s post, making a donation or just simply “tweeting” about it. Anything will help.
Thank you Jessica for your kind heart and your willingness to promote this story, and thanks to everyone for considering.
May God bless this precious family.

This next page will display a number of different codes for you to choose from according to the type of blogging platform you use (WordPress, blogger etc.). Choose the appropriate code and “Copy” it.
—————————————————————————————————
Now, head back over to your post. Ensure that everything is complete, then switch to html view by clicking on the ”Text” tab for WordPress or “HTML” tab for blogger.

The html view will look like a foreign language with your post displayed in all code. You will want to scroll down to the very bottom of the code, Then “Paste” the copied code into the post in html view.
