My two archaeologists
So, the Kid (my husband) and Baby bear (5yr old) have recently been out in the trails near our house and have apparently been “Mining”.
At first they were looking for gold, but then they actually starting discovering some interesting things like petrified barbed wire, and flint rock and an artifact that my husband is convinced is an Indian arrow head. After doing a little research, my husband was fascinated to learn that native Indians did indeed occupy our area at one time and they also used the flint rock to make arrow heads.
From that moment on, this “Mining” activity became a daily after school ritual. They would dig for arrow heads and my husband would teach baby bear about the Indian tribe than once made them. They came across a rock that resembled the shape of a bowl and my husband talked about how the Indians may have used it to eat Captain Crunch for breakfast in the morning. Baby bear did not find this humorous and informed his dad that they didn’t have Captain Crunch back then.
After collecting several items that they thought might have been Indian Artifacts they headed home. On the way back, baby bear asked my husband if he was sure these items belonged to the Indians to which my husband replied “yes” so baby bear then said,
“Then why do we keep stealing all their stuff?”

Petrified barbed wire

This is cute
Sweet.
Love kids. Nice that your husband spent so much time sharing with your lil one.
A sense of humor and a sense of morality… good job Dysfunction Mom and Dad;)

This is hilarious! Love it. I recently wrote a post about going on an “adventure” with my six-year-old son. Glad to hear your husband is a believer in adventures with kiddos too! Great post! Made me smile!
